OVERVIEW

PROSOCO’s Targeted Interior Air Seal (TIAS) seals critical building envelope connections quickly from the inside of a structure to achieve the same performance and continuity of air control expected from an exterior air-sealing application. Applied from a variety of equipment types, TIAS is an elastomeric, water-based air sealant that is installed after the exterior sheathing and before interior drywall or paneling. Designed for negative-side air control strategies, TIAS works on new and existing construction.
Install TIAS around all through-wall penetrations and along joints and seams that separate conditioned from non-conditioned spaces where air leakage is most likely to occur. This includes, but is not limited to, seams that separate:

  • over joints and seams in ceiling, walls or floor planes
  • the mudsill from the concrete slab
  • the bottom plate from the mudsill
  • the bottom plate from the sheathed floor assembly
  • the top plate from the second top plate
  • around through-wall penetration(s)

Properly installed, TIAS penetrates deeply and seals gaps in construction that can compromise building performance and durability. TIAS maintains its air-sealing function long after interior spaces are conditioned and occupied.
