OVERVIEW
R-Guard SureSpan EX is an extruded, elastomeric, pre-cured silicone material designed to help create flexible and durable transitions between various types of air and water barriers and the curtainwall, storefront, or window being installed. SureSpan EX provides a continuous bridge between the window and/or curtainwall openings and the adjacent air and vapor barrier materials. SureSpan EX is designed for high-movement, dynamic joints which are too large to be spanned by Joint & Seam Filler or FastFlash®. SureSpan EX absorbs thermal movement and windloading stresses. The system spans and seals across irregular window geometries. SureSpan EX is fully compatible with most window sealants and glazing materials. R-Guard SureSpan EX bonds to substrates with R-Guard SureSpan Adhesive. SureSpan EX is supplied in a translucent, “caution” yellow to simplify inspection and quality control.
