More than 50,000 square feet of concrete on the Sound Transit Light Rail project connecting Tacoma, Wash., to Everett, Wash., have been protected with SL100 Water Repellent, a silane formula that protects surfaces against water and waterborne contaminants. SL100 is popular on infrastructure projects like this one because it can be used on horizontal and vertical surfaces, it offers invisible protection and low volatility, and it’s ideal for glass fiber-reinforced concrete (GFRC), integrally colored precast concrete and natural stone. SL100 also provides long-lasting protection without forming a film or gloss and does not trap moisture, allowing treated surfaces to “breathe.”
