Massive air barrier project at UCLA completed with PROSOCO Cat 5
2 phases. 5 buildings. 8-10 stories each. ~700,000 sq. ft. of air barrier. 3 contracting companies. 2 1/2 years of construction. These two projects housing at UCLA recently were completed in time for students to return to campus for the 2021 fall semester. Simulated storm surge on a wall assembly - 4 feet in 5 seconds
Storm surges common during hurricanes can wreak havoc on buildings and wall assemblies. If a wall gets wet and is unable to dry as a result of a storm surge, even more dangerous damage can occur like mold growth and compromised structural integrity of a structure.
